Sambal Marinated Tempeh Burger

Move over tofu! This tempeh burger has got the umami to satisfy any tummy. Made from fermented soy beans, tempeh is a popular food from Indonesia that you can probably find at an Asian grocer near you.

Ingredients (Tempeh Patty Marinade):
(Serves 1 pax)
1 portion of tempeh (burger patty size)
1.5 tsps Mekhala Organic Roasted Chilli Sambal Paste
1 tbsp coconut oil
Pinch of salt
A few drops of lemon juice

Ingredients (Burger):
Avocado slices
Red onion rings
Romain lettuce
Finely Sliced pickled carrots
Vegan mayo
0.5 tsps Mekhala Organic Roasted Chilli Sambal Paste
Your favorite burger bun


Method:

    1. Marinate the tempeh patty and leave for at least 15 minutes, then pan sear.
    2. Combine vegan mayo and Mekhala Organic Roasted Chilli Sambal Paste and spread the sauce over your favorite toasted burger bun.
    3. Build your burger and enjoy!
