Move over tofu! This tempeh burger has got the umami to satisfy any tummy. Made from fermented soy beans, tempeh is a popular food from Indonesia that you can probably find at an Asian grocer near you.
Ingredients (Tempeh Patty Marinade):
(Serves 1 pax)
1 portion of tempeh (burger patty size)
1.5 tsps Mekhala Organic Roasted Chilli Sambal Paste
1 tbsp coconut oil
Pinch of salt
A few drops of lemon juice
Red onion rings
Finely Sliced pickled carrots
0.5 tsps Mekhala Organic Roasted Chilli Sambal Paste
Your favorite burger bun
- Marinate the tempeh patty and leave for at least 15 minutes, then pan sear.
- Combine vegan mayo and Mekhala Organic Roasted Chilli Sambal Paste and spread the sauce over your favorite toasted burger bun.
- Build your burger and enjoy!
