Gobi Matar Masala

As the name suggests, this dish is made with gobi (cauliflower) and matar (peas) as the main ingredients. Add a dash of Mekhala Organic Tikka Masala, and you’ve got yourself a classic Gobi Matar Masala recipe that’s sure to make you drool with anticipation!

Indian Gobi Matar Masala Recipe

Ingredients (Sauce/Marinade):

  • 1.5lb/700gm Cauliflower and Peas
  • 2 teaspoons Mekhala Organic Tikka Masala Paste
  • 1.5 cup tinned tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup thickened cream or coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Cilantro or sliced chilies for garnish

Method:

  1. Our gobi matar masala recipe begins with browning cauliflower and peas in some vegetable oil on medium to high heat.
  2. Add Mekhala Organic Tikka Masala Paste, tinned tomatoes, and cream and stir to combine.
  3. Simmer on low heat till cooked (approximately 10 minutes).
  4. Garnish with cilantro and/or sliced chilies and serve hot with steamed rice.

The best thing about our Gobi Matar Masala recipe is it can be made with gravy as well. Just add a little water to the base and it’s ready!
