Indian Chana Makhani Recipe

Ingredients (Sauce/Marinade):

  • 1.5lb/700gm tinned chickpeas, drained
  • 2 teaspoons Mekhala Organic Butter Masala Paste
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup thickened cream or coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Chopped tomatoes and cilantro for garnish

Method:

  1. How to make Chana Makhani, you ask? Simply saute chickpeas with vegetable oil in a hot pan.
  2. Add Mekhala Organic Butter Masala Paste, tomato puree, and cream and mix well to combine. Use coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
  3. Simmer on low heat till cooked (approximately 10 minutes).
  4. Garnish with chopped tomatoes and cilantro, and serve hot with steamed rice.
