A vegan cook, yoga instructor (with advanced certification in Classical Astanga and Hatha yoga systems), naturopath and co-owner of the Mekhala Corporate Health Retreat, Phanthip Jang Bauerle has dedicated many years to stewarding the retreat’s spa, garden and kitchen. Jang's passion for natural botanical ingredients began as a child, where she tended the family garden, and learnt about indigenous herbs and spices from her mother and aunts. Later on, as a wife, a mother and a retreat proprietor, Jang felt responsible for her family's and her clients' health and welfare. Concerned about the chemicals that are prevalent in many commercially available food and body products, Jang decided to put her knowledge of nutrition, health and healing to good use.
Working from a lab within the retreat, Jang researches the benefits of organic and additive-free products to create our beautiful food and spa range. Meticulous about freshness and quality, and fiercely committed to the community, Jang sources her unadulterated raw materials from local farmers and certified organic suppliers, and grows organic herbs and vegetables in the retreat’s gardens. She works tirelessly to develop unique formulas and recipes, and ensures that we only deliver the purest honeys, teas, sauces, and spa essentials with which to pamper your body.
