Mapo Tofu with Plant-Based Mince

Mekhala Mapo Tofu

Sweet and spicy, mapo tofu is a popular dish throughout the eastern and western world for good reason. With Mekhala’s Kung Pao Starter Pack, you can now make a plant-based version for that textural authenticity!

Ingredients:
(Serves 2-4 pax)
Mekhala Kung Pao Starter Pack
Tofu
Spring Onions
Vegetable Oil

Method:

  1. Rehydrate meatless crumbles by combining crumbles with 250ml hot water and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Let sit for 5 minutes, then drain excess water.
  2. Cut the block of tofu into 1 inch cubes.
  3. Brown cubed tofu in a hot pan with 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, then add meatless crumbles and fry till browned.
  4. Add the sachet of Kung Pao sauce, heat and stir through.
  5. Garnish with chopped spring onions and enjoy.
